Back on Stage Again!

The ToneKats headed up the Main Stage at Ribfest, Kingston Memorial Centre Fair Grounds on September 11, 2021. Our last show was July 4th, 2020 at Sunnyside Campground, Westport , Ontario. After decades of working with bands, MIke Soo, soundman for the ToneKats for many shows over the past 13 years passed away in December of 2020. We grieve the loss of our friend, but Dave, John and Adam have returned to outdoor stages. As a band that normally encourages dancing in crowded spaces, we are slow to return as we are not likely to play duo or acoustic. Our brand of rock and country involves playing songs you know the words to and recognize, across the years and across the genres and decades - One thing in common - We play them as they were written, same melodies, same leads, same rock attitudes and enthusiasm. We are a stage show - We engage our audiences, we move around, we ask them what they want to hear and we do play requests (as many as we can). Here are some of the happenings from Ribfest. The 3,000 or so crowd in the festival and the fair seemed to all agree with what the soundman (Will Van Rhyn) and his partner Molly said "we all needed this after a year of a lot of acoustic music and duos - real raw rock n roll!". We had friends come from Ottawa and further to see us. We will be back on scene soon. WE have three shows already booked for 2022 including Ribfest, The Jack Thompson & The ToneKats Thousand Island Cruise and the Corvette Invasion at the Ambassador Hotel in June. Thanks To Marc Garniss (Kingston Punk Productions) for video and Jay Smith for photos. Watch for the ToneKats at your favourite music venue - We're back and tighter than a man bun at your favourite bar!.
